A Stroke in time
I’ve been remixing today’s online porn for years, collecting, cutting, animating, layering. But I kept thinking about what came before. Before the tabs, the streaming, the algorithms. How did we get here?
I started digging through old magazines, film stills, forgotten ads, and digital archives full of grain and glitches. I wanted to see how gay men used porn, and how porn shaped us, from the 70s to now. I was born in the seventies, but much of what I found was new to me. The codes, the lust, the play: those felt familiar.
I’m making one collage per decade. They’re overloaded, messy, and in motion. Just like the gay experience they reflect. Nothing is final. These works will keep evolving, shifting, and expanding.
The first three designs were featured in Mascular Magazine No. 42 (april 2025).

Every element came from the internet, a digital treasure hunt turned into queer collage.
