There’s something so masculine and informal about a man casually wearing socks. If he’s got his shoes off, most likely he’s in a place where he’s relaxed and comfortable. And since I grew up in a very heteronormative small town, women typically wore pantyhose and men wore socks, so they have always been tied to maleness for me.
And obviously athletics multiplies the manly factor by about a million. I mostly love OTC socks of any kind, but there’s something about a man wearing sweats and socks that I can tell go up beyond the hem of the sweats that drives me absolutely wild.
