One of my earliest memories of an indirect experience with another boy and his socks took place in school. We were sitting around the table with a couple of other classmates when one of them made comments toward this boy. He would always get defensive if someone suggested he was dirty, or smelled bad, one of the other classmates enjoyed teasing and winding him up like this because it was so easy to do, so said they bet the boy had sweaty smelly socks and the boys immediate reaction was to slide his shoe off, lift his leg and slam his heel on the desk, demanding the person who made the comment to sniff his sock to prove they didn’t stink. I knew I liked other male socks and feet before this event, but this was a heavily defining moment for me growing up, leading to many daydreams and fantasies based around that socked foot somewhat aggressively presented on that table. In that moment I had wished it was me he was demanding.
